ShadowLight’s performances combine traditional shadow casting with contemporary technology and stagecraft, based in a diverse cultural tradition. The organization reaches approximately 4,000 Bay Area residents each year, and hundreds more see its work on national and international tours. ShadowLight is grounded in its education workshops for K-12 students, and after-school programs that reach 2,000 youth each year. Renewed funding would support ShadowLight in implementing findings from its strategic learning process, funded by a Hewlett Organizational Effectiveness grant, to strengthen organizational infrastructure and invest in the founding artistic director Larry Reed’s living legacy.
